Chemiteq became a distributor of Kilfrost in 2015 to supply inhibited antifreeze agents to the water treatment industry.  The inhibitors in the formulation are all tested to ASTM standards, either meeting or exceeding the standard.  The Kilfrost products also provide a Reserve Alkalinity (RA) value which is a measure of the buffering capacity of the coolant fluid, ie how the coolant remains within its specified pH range even when absorbing acids and contaminants from process fluid leaks, etc.  If the RA value is not present, pH will fall below 7 and lead to rapid degradation of the fluid and inhibitors.

It is a general requirement of any inhibited antifreeze agent that a dose rate of at least 25% product should be present in the system at all times.  This level provides protection against freezing and importantly ensures the correct level of inhibitor is protecting the pipework.  Failure to add the minimum volume leads to rapid degradation of the fluid, inhibitors and the system which can be difficult to counteract and can prove very costly.
